About Me

Hey Friends! Welcome to Beaches and Reads! I am so happy you are here! My name is Kelly and I am the HBH (Head Book Hoarder) at this fine establishment! If you are a lover of books then you have come to the right place! I am so ecstatic to share the best in books and bookish goodness with you! Helping people find the perfect book to fit their family is kinda the best thing ever. 

Beaches and Reads started out as Homeschool by the Beach. It was created as a way to share homeschooling tips, book reviews, and our Florida explorations with you! Somewhere along the way I discovered that my passion was sharing books and book reviews. So, Beaches and Reads came to be! 

Let me finish off by letting you know a little bit about  ME!  I am a secular homeschooling Mama to 3 nearly geriatric kiddos…Gracie, Sophia, and Max. I am married to an insanely smart structural engineer named Chris. We packed up our life in NH and moved to the beautiful state of Florida. We live on the Gulf Coast and love to spend as much time at the beach as we can (Hence the beaches in Beaches and Reads…I bet you were wondering about that). 

How about some fun facts:

1.) I am a book hoarder…obsessed with books…when I am not thinking about books I am usually actively reading them, reviewing them, sniffing them (don’t judge its totally a thing), daydreaming about them, or buying them.

2.) We are beach bums and love nothing more than having our feet in the sand!

3.) I LOVE strong coffee…only brewed in a french press…and I also love coffee mugs…bookish coffee mugs

4.) I have my Master’s degree in Education

5.) I love traveling and exploring new places

6.) My sunglasses are always crooked…it might just be my face
